Notes from Natchez

We successfully made the drive from Galveston.  It was a very nice day and the drive (including a ferry boat ride) took us about 6 hours.  Most of the time was through parts of Louisiana that we had never traveled.
We arrived at our new home, Blueberry Hill Cottage.  It sits on a tall bluff overlooking the Mississippi River about 2 miles north of Natchez.  The owner told us that the cottage was built in the 1920s and originally sat in the city of Natchez.  The owners, Carol and Braxton Hobdy, bought the house for $10.00 and had it moved to its current sight - next to their home.  Carol and Braxton fixed it up and now use it as a bed and breakfast.  The cottage is a cross between being in an antique store and living in an interior design magazine.   It is stunning.

We are looking forward to seeing the amazing antebellum homes around Natchez, visiting the many National Wildlife Preserves and finding other trails to explore.
